Health Ministers approve Australia’s National Digital Health Strategy
Digital information is the bedrock of high quality healthcare. The benefits for patients are significant and compelling: hospital admissions avoided, fewer adverse drug events, reduced duplication of tests, better coordination of care for people with chronic and complex conditions, and better informed treatment decisions. Digital health can help save and improve lives.
Improving patient healthcare through digital trials
Patients from around Australia will benefit from 15 new projects that will utilise information from a consenting patient’s My Health Record to improve the delivery of their healthcare.
The $8.5 million Digital Health Test Beds program will trial new approaches in chronic health, palliative care, and post hospital support.
Framework for Action and Consultation - Organisations invited to contribute to the implementation plan for Australia’s National Digital Health Strategy
In 2017, Australia’s National Digital Health Strategy Safe, Seamless and Secure was approved by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Health Council putting the consumer at the centre of their healthcare and providing choice, control and transparency. The Agency, in consultation with the states and territories, drafted a Framework for Action to support the strategy’s implementation and we are now running a consultation phase to gain wider feedback on the draft framework.
Australian Digital Agency and NSW Health to digitise children’s health - National Children’s Digital Health Collaborative to provide a digital health record for all kids
In one of the first initiatives of Australia’s National Digital Health Strategy – Safe, Seamless, and Secure, the Australian Digital Health Agency is partnering with eHealth NSW and the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) to establish the National Children’s Digital Health Collaborative.
Digital test beds to drive change in healthcare
Health technology organisations, clinicians, patients and health service managers are driving innovation and developing creative solutions to improve how health services are delivered. These ideas often give life to the next solution, which can improve safety, drive health efficiency, and enable choice and control for patients.
